Starting from June 2024, the companies Messersì SPA, AM Microsystems SRL, and G.F. Impianti SRL, united in a temporary consortium, have launched the project titled “SMART HEAVY-DUTY ELECTRIC DUMPER – S.H.E.D.”, co-financed by the Marche Region under the “PR FESR 2021-2027 – AXIS 1 – SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE 1.1 – ACTION 1.1.1 – Call “RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TO INNOVATE THE MARCHE” – Incentives for companies for industrial research and experimental development activities in the areas of the Regional Smart Specialization Strategy – AGGREGATION OF COMPANIES”.
The S.H.E.D. Project, with an estimated duration of 18 months, arises from the shared goals of three distinct companies from the Marche region, operating in equally diverse sectors, but together, thanks to complementary knowledge and skills, they aim to innovate both a part of the MIDI Dumper production process and introduce new versions to the market that were not previously available.
The main goal of the project is to prototype 4 new models of MIDI Dumper with different engines (power/size) and propulsion systems (electric-internal combustion) and to automate the dumper testing phase. S.H.E.D. is divided into 3 Work Packages, one dedicated to the development and prototyping of the new dumpers (coordinated by Messersì SPA), one dedicated to defining and prototyping a HW/SW monitoring and control system for the dumper and its interaction with the testing system (coordinated by AM Microsystems), and a WP dedicated to prototyping the new bench for automating the current manual dumper testing process (coordinated by G.F. Impianti).
With a total investment of €1,659,981.29, a cumulative contribution of €1,071,896.87 was granted.
